Hello to all those faithfully reading and hopefully enjoying this effort to make even the worst horror movie more watcha... aw, screw that - I'm not that good. If a movie makes you cringe because yet another batch of unlikable teens that are pushing 30 are inching toward their deaths, having a party no one does anywhere ever, a paranormal movie is boring you to tears with unending pans of empty rooms, or thanks to CGI technology when people finally bite it, their blood squirts everywhere except on the victim, the ground, the people next to them... you're in good company and this is the right place for you.

WE INTERRUPT THIS HORROR FILLED BLOG WITH A MESSAGE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN POSITIVE BUT THANKS TO FACEBOOK IT HAS BECOME A NEGATIVE MESSAGE AND IT'S A DAMNED SHAME

Special Unit - The Movie (In Process)

My favorite comedian besides Fluffy (Gabriel Iglesias) is Christopher Titus. If you remember, he briefly had a series on the Fox network (three seasons I think) as well as specials on Comedy Central, the latest now on DVD being Voice In My Head.

I mention this because he is trying to make a movie. The premise is a worn down cop who, because of the Americans With Disabilities Act, has to hire a crew of people who are differently abled.

This movie, made with his friends, some who he has known for years, is mostly being funded by Christopher himself, the rest he's trying to raise through the website FundAnything.com that, depending on how much you can contribute, gives you some really cool stuff.

Now this sounds great and I've seen a clip which was hilarious. No this does NOT make fun of people with disabilities, but it does portray a REAL picture of what differently abled people have to deal with. But Facebook, with its usual slanted view of what is acceptable and what is not (Make fun of the President? Sure, slander away. Have a movie with disabled people starring in it? BAN IT!) at first just removed his clip of what the movie would be about and then when Christopher continued and gave the address of the place for movie funding, they decided to remove that also. Now as of today, 10/13, they have let him keep the latest post he's made but that can change at any time.

Note: I checked this on 5/17/14 and found the link gone once again so I got a new link to it so it's back on top of the page. If you see it disappear again please let me know.

Here is his pitch:

I'M REPOSTING THIS SO I CAN ASK YOU TO SHARE IT.

Hey,
We are making a movie. We need your help. The movie is called Special Unit and we are using the funniest comics out there, Josh Blue, Brad Williams, Michael Aronin. Oh yeah, the movie is Lethal Weapon meets the Special Olympics. My friends who are considered "Disabled" never get work on movies unless its a "special little hero" or in Brad's case, elf or magical sidekick to a wizard. I had this Idea because my friends are tired of not getting the shot they deserve and Hollywood is so PC the won't consider it. " What if we make someone mad?" "What if an advertiser pulls out?" So we are crowd funding it.

Disabled people used to be hidden away in homes now this PC world is doing the same thing. " We have to protect them, we'll put them in movies where they can be treated a certain way." Bullshit. Besides being balls-out funny we want to change the way these guys are seen and dealt with. Watch the video and if I have ever made you laugh, if you listen to the podcast for free for almost three years now, kick in.

If Josh Blue, Brad Williams or Michael Aronin has ever pulled a laugh from you, then go to fundanything.com kick in a 20 or a hundo. (you get cool shit if you do that) and be a part of one funny ass movie and help give these guys a shot.
Thanks - TITUS

Note: All funding campaigns have ended.

Special Unit update. We start shooting the last week in October, 2014. Everlast has signed on to do the music and the score. WHAT! Rewriting the script now. - Titus
