Hello to all those faithfully reading and hopefully enjoying this effort to make even the worst horror movie more watcha... aw, screw that - I'm not that good. If a movie makes you cringe because yet another batch of unlikable teens that are pushing 30 are inching toward their deaths, having a party no one does anywhere ever, a paranormal movie is boring you to tears with unending pans of empty rooms, or thanks to CGI technology when people finally bite it, their blood squirts everywhere except on the victim, the ground, the people next to them... you're in good company and this is the right place for you.

THE GAME: Is This Movie Real Or Is It A Fake?

I've watched a ton of movies good, bad and really, really bad. I know practically every plot device there is. I know characters, I know settings. That being said I thought it would be fun to have a little game for my readers (all two of them) for me to write out the synopsis of a movie, and have you tell me whether this is a  real movie or did I make it up. I will place ONE obvious clue in each to give you a better shot. If you think you know, and don't be shy about it, tell me in the comment box below. Also, if you can think of a good title or think you know the title, type that in too. I will give the results in a week. Good luck... and have some fun.

Synopsis: Eight college students are planning a skiing trip at a chalet up in the mountains for Christmas break. Since their families expect all home for Christmas, they all lie and say their grades are down and they need to stay at college to study and catch up. The four couples, Christian and Virginia, Edward and Bella, Chase and Nicole, and Richard and Buffy are all from rich families and can well afford the trip. The chalet actually belongs to Edward, whose parents died several years ago, leaving  him extremely wealthy. The chalet even has its own private chair lift, well maintained, about 100 acres or so of property, and is by a lake. All are looking forward to two weeks of skiing, sex, drinking and.... more sex.

The day of the trip Edward shows up in a brand new large SUV, big enough for the eight students and their gear. After a long, winding trip up the mountain on snowy roads they finally make it just before dark. After getting their gear put away in the Chalet, Nicole says she promised to call her frat house and let the girls know they got there safe. Unfortunately, there is no cell phone service. The chalet has electricity and plumbing, but no phone line. Edward explains that the chalet has belonged to his family since he was a kid, they had come up every year and his father wanted no interruptions (hence no phone) as the family did all kinds of activities together. He mentions his father even taught him ice fishing in the frozen lake. He tells Nicole she can drive to the nearest town, 20 miles away, in the morning and make her call. The alcohol is then brought out and they all get stinking drunk. Edward then brings out a surprise: A genuine bottle of absinthe, which he said his father had smuggled in on one of his trips to France. They play a drinking game: Pass the bottle around, and whoever is not brave enough to take a drink has to take off a piece of clothing. Of course, the guys are hoping the girls will all chicken out. After three or four rounds, all become extremely disoriented and pass out.

When they wake it is morning... and Edward is dead. His body is covered in blood, and massive gashes. Virginia is holding a bloody knife in her hand. She insists she has no idea what happened, she just passed out. Chase takes the knife from her and puts it in a locking cabinet. They then lock her in one of the rooms, despite her protests. As they prepare to drive down to town for the police they see that it has snowed all night, burying the car and making the road impassable. Not knowing what else to do, they drag Edward out to the woodshed, figuring the cold would keep him until they could get to help. All seven students, after all the drinking and seeing their slaughtered friend, become violently ill and quite a lot of the morning is spent vomiting. In the afternoon they decide to regroup - all except Nichole. They go to her room and find her dead on the bed, slashed to death. The knife is the still in her, the same one supposedly locked in the cabinet. They then suspect Chase and let Virginia out of the room, locking him in, although he claims he never went near the cabinet. The knife is thrown outside into the deepening snow. They have no choice but to drag Nicole to the woodshed but when they get her there, Edward's body is missing. Because of the falling snow, there are no tracks, no drag marks. His body is just... gone. Now all start becoming suspicious of each other. There has been no sign of anybody else within miles, there's just the six of them. Each goes back to their separate rooms (BIG chalet) and lock themselves in. Not even an hour goes by when they hear a scream - from Christian. Running to his room, they break down the door to find him torn apart with what appears to be an axe. Dragging him to the woodshed they find... well, you know where this is going. One by one each is horribly murdered but each time the previous body is missing from the shed and the snow is only getting deeper. Finally only Richard is left. He is almost insane with fear and figures he has to get out any way he can. The snowing has finally stopped, and he begins to dig the SUV out, hoping for an escape - until an axe sinks into his back. Richard turns - to see Edward's smiling face as he slowly slides down the side of the SUV. Edward faked his death, obviously. As Richard is dying he has to ask - why? And where did the other bodies go? Edward explains that several years ago, Richard had held a party at his parents' home, with all eight being in attendance. Edward didn't drink but the rest did - heavily. Despite his protests, they insisted on driving home. One of them lost control of their car and smashed into another car head-on. It was his parents. They were killed instantly. The person who did it lived and managed to drive their car away from the scene and was never caught. He planned his revenge for years, making sure all eight stayed together in one college by using his money to get them accepted, and bribing their parents by paying the tuitions. And the bodies? Well, his father taught him ice fishing, and how to make a nice, large hole in the thick ice in the lake. The bodies won't be found for years, if ever since he was the only one who ever comes to the chalet. Since all the students lied to their parents, they won't have the foggiest idea where to begin looking for them. The movie ends as Edward, whistling and madly happy, drags a now-dead Richard over to the lake. The end.
