Hello to all those faithfully reading and hopefully enjoying this effort to make even the worst horror movie more watcha... aw, screw that - I'm not that good. If a movie makes you cringe because yet another batch of unlikable teens that are pushing 30 are inching toward their deaths, having a party no one does anywhere ever, a paranormal movie is boring you to tears with unending pans of empty rooms, or thanks to CGI technology when people finally bite it, their blood squirts everywhere except on the victim, the ground, the people next to them... you're in good company and this is the right place for you.

THE WALKING DEAD: CHARACTERS WE LOVE AND HATE

Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies)

People are really polarized when it comes to the character of Lori Grimes. They either really hate her or feel very sorry for her. So far in the series the way she has been behaving I gravitate toward the first choice.

Her husband is shot and in the hospital and a zombie apocalypse begins. So she does the only logical thing: she immediately begins an affair with Shane, her husband's best friend (to be fair, Shane DID tell her Rick was dead) and life goes on.

I think one of the main problems people have with her is her ineffectiveness, her whining and her seeming lack to help out much with important tasks (one of them being her own son, Carl, which has created a whole crop of memes).
In the first season, although Shane has essentially rescued and taken care of her and her son (for selfish purposes but we'll discuss that later) as soon as her husband shows up again, she dumps Shane without a 'well it's been swell but...' She doesn't even seem to care that she's just ripped up Shane's heart. If Shane has one... but again, that's for later.

There are different scenes that have been captured where she lectures people on doing things one way and then proceed to do the opposite or worse, nothing at all. She rips on everyone without much regard to their feelings, and although Rick went through the ultimate horror just to be reunited with her again, she really doesn't seem to appreciate that he's back and taking care of her (or that Shane is going nuts watching her ignore him after what he's done for her).

The second season doesn't seem to find much improvement in the development of her character. The balance of the opinion of her character (I say character because actually Sarah is quite excellent in portraying this conflicted and irritating woman) is sliding toward hating her for her continued bad judgement, the fact that she's pregnant (possibly Shane's), the way she helped drive Shane to madness, and many other incidents that people love to point out (like I said, memes about her are all over the place, many of them spot-on.

So hopefully for season three we will see a little maturing of her attitude, more gratitude, more common sense. For right now, she's kind of a character that makes you flinch whenever she's onscreen.

As for Sarah herself, she grew up in Hawaii and always knew she wanted to be an actress. She has appeared in television and film, being best noted for her role as Dr. Sara Tancredi in Prison Break.
